I Voted Early

I am a procrastinator by nature and ashamed of it. One of my resolutions year after year is to work on that. And to everyone’s surprise even my own I managed to vote early this year. Isn’t that sweet?

My fiancĂ© was getting on me about waiting so long to vote. We made a pack to vote together and every other day I had a reason as to why I couldn’t go vote that day. But Wednesday morning I jolted awake at 8:15am ready to vote. I was pumped, excited and patting myself on the back. I felt like such a wonderful citizen doing her civic duty.

But maybe if this wonderful citizen had read the fine print she would know the voting polls didn’t open until 11am at the public libraries.

So here I am at the library 9:23 in the morning feeling all special and smart. Only to see that a little line had already begun to form inside.

So immediately my fiancĂ© and I devised a plan on how we we’re going to save our places in line, juggle our toddler and stay positive and not want to say forget it and return to our warm home.

We did it! We did it! As Dora the Explorer would say.

I voted early! And I feel like I have done my part and kept my commitment to my candidate. Don’t let anything keep you away from the polls this year.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta – Sheree and Nene

In the first episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta the focus is on Sheree who is planning to throw herself the most lavish, not-to-miss party that Atlanta has seen. Immediately we know it’s all about Sheree and no one else.

In this episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta we also find out that there is some looming tension between Sheree and Nene. Tonight’s big question on The Real Housewives of Atlanta is whether or not Nene will be invited to Sheree’s birthday party?

While Sheree is mulling that over we get a glimpse of Kim talking to her mystery multi-millionaire dollar man who leaves her wanting for nothing. Imagine renting a nice luxury vehicle and then coming home and calling “Big poppa” and telling him that’s what you would like to purchase today. It must be nice.

In between cracking her whip, Sheree decides she is going to invite Nene to her birthday bash. The evening of Sheree’s party Kim and Nene decide to arrive fashionably late, but there’s one little hitch in their plans. When they arrive they soon find out that Nene’s name is not on the guest list. How can you be one of The Real Housewives of Atlanta if your name is not on the list?

Nene is totally embarrassed because the security guards are acting like the Queen of England is in the living room. At any moment I thought they were going to tackle her to the floor.

Now when this situation was brought to Sheree’s attention I thought she handled it badly. Being that there was an existing situation between Sheree and Nene instead of sending her assistant to tell security to let her in. She should have walked her pampered legs upstairs and personally apologized for the mix up. That’s what a classy lady would have done. But not Sheree she continued to party brushing it off as if it weren’t a big deal.

Kudos to Kim who stood by Nene’s side, she refused to go in the party if Nene wasn’t let in. Now you know some of your trashier girlfriends would have given you the piece sign as they slipped on in.

Now Nene I know you were upset and yes it did seem like it was done deliberately. But the world is watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta we can’t be potty mouths on television. Stay tuned for some more comments and observations.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta The Introductions

When Bravo TV decided to do the Real Housewives of Atlanta I thought I would give it a try. Now, I do television recaps sometimes, but the Real Housewives of Atlanta isn’t really the kind of television show you recap. I would say the Real Housewives of Atlanta is something you observe and comment on. But let’s first introduce you to the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Our first real housewife of Atlanta is Lisa Wu Hartwell who is married to NFL player Ed Hartwell and owns her own real estate firm among other things.

Our second real housewife of Atlanta is Deshawn Snow who is married to NBA player Eric Snow of the Cleveland Cavaliers. She heads up The Deshawn Snow foundation.

Our third real housewife of Atlanta is Nene Leakes who is married to Gregg Leakes a successful real estate investor. And she is the founder of The Twisted Hearts Foundation.

Kim Zolciak is a single mother living well in Atlanta. She is currently dating someone who wants to remain anonymous. I wonder why?

Sheree Whitfield our soon to be ex-housewife is currently in the process of divorcing Ex NFL player Bob Whitfield.

Here are my first impressions of each of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

I thought Sheree was self absorbed, materialistic and shallow. She is so money hungry and has a desire to be envied. Deshawn immediately rubbed me the wrong way. I felt her staff was too extensive and it just didn’t seem like she needed all the help she claimed she needed. But in her defense I don’t live her life she may actually need all her servants.

Kim just screamed out “kept woman” to me. Her looks are her tools in life and maintaining them is absolutely necessary to live as she is accustomed to. Lisa seems like a hard worker and yes she is blessed to be married to a man that can take care of her. But I think that’s just a bonus because she could do It all by herself.

I like Nene she is a real as they come. You can tell right away that she has a big heart. She’s a little brash and outspoken but she’s the hot sauce in this Atlanta Mix. Stay tuned for some more comments and observations.
